Pete Bangert

Pete is a long serving musician from the Sheffield area. He formed Chinwig for a number of reasons. Primarily, Mick (in his inimitable style) made it quite apparent that it was time to get off his arse and start gigging again.

This prod also fitted in with a number of other reasons for starting out again. He says, “I wanted the opportunity to gig some of his latest writing, work on stage with my son Krys and play with Gordon again before sliding down hill finally. I am not as fast as I used to be but that is not necessarily a bad thing. I always think the is no point in playing something unless it says something and the message is often lost in too many notes nowadays”.

Pete manages the Rising Records label and has his own recording studio as well as mobile facilities.

Live, Pete plays a Kahler equipped Gibson Flying ‘V’ with an Axon guitar synth, through a MESA Boogie rack setup with digital processing. He uses RFX, Palmer, Terratec, DigiTech, Orange and Vox equipment as well as Line6, Ibanez, Yamaha and bespoke guitars. Pete’s floorboard equipment is composed of midi controllers for the rack equipment.
